What is Snapbar?

Snapbar is an experiential marketing platform. Brands and event teams use Snapbar to run interactive activations at trade shows, conferences, product launches, and corporate events: guests create personalized content they want to keep, like AI portraits, branded photos, collectible trading cards, or short videos, and trade their contact details for it. The brand leaves with opted-in leads, shareable marketing fuel, and live analytics from one platform.

Snapbar runs in a web browser on the devices you choose, from an iPad or kiosk at your booth to every guest's own phone, and it has been running activations since 2012.

How Snapbar compares to other options

Buyers usually weigh Snapbar against four kinds of providers. Each is the better fit for some events.

  • Photo booth rental companies rent hardware and an attendant for one event. Snapbar is a platform the brand runs on its own devices or guests' phones, with lead capture, analytics, and displays built in. A rental company is the better fit when you want a physical booth and an attendant handled end to end.
  • Photo booth software for operators is licensed by photo booth businesses to run their own booths, often per device. Snapbar is built for the brand or event team running the activation, priced per experience however many devices or screens you use. Operator software is the better fit when you run a photo booth rental business.
  • Event platforms and lead retrieval apps handle registration, agendas, and badge scanning. Snapbar is the activation itself: guests create content and opt in, and Snapbar experiences embed in your event platform. An event platform is the better fit when you need registration, ticketing, or badge scanning.
  • Experiential agencies design, build, and staff a custom activation. Snapbar puts the platform in your team's hands, with our team's expertise on AI styles and data flow, and many agencies run Snapbar for their clients. An agency is the better fit when you need full creative production and on-site staffing.

Experiences guests take part in

Lead capture is built into every Snapbar experience. It's never a separate product.

Experience What guests do What it's for
AI Photo Booth Take a photo and get an AI portrait in a style the brand designs, from photoreal headshots to almost anything An output people want to share
AI Video Turn their personalized photo into a short AI video clip Social-first content with more energy than a still
AI Stories Fill in a short story with their own details, which drive a personalized AI illustration Something more personal than another portrait
Persona Quiz Answer a few questions and get the persona they match, as a portrait package Engagement that doubles as qualification and segmentation
Trading Cards Become a collectible card with an AI portrait and stats from their own answers Collecting and networking, with a gamified edge
Digital Photo Booth Capture real photos with branded overlays, frames, and filters Authentic moments, with every guest as the photographer
Event Headshots Get a professional headshot taken and delivered at the event A useful output guests keep, with no photographer or studio
Video Testimonials Record a short video answer to one question and get it back with a branded overlay Reusable proof in your guests' own voices
Spin to Win Spin a branded prize wheel from their phones for instant wins A fast, fun reason to stop, and every spin captures a lead

With Snapbar's AI experiences, you define, customize, and refine your styles before the event, and our team helps with the more complex AI prompts. AI Photo Booth can blend a second photo into a portrait, and AI Video styles can travel between two images, so each clip is a short journey instead of one still brought to life (our team switches this on for each style).

Displays

Every Snapbar activation includes live displays, and a client can run as many as they want, each customized to where it appears.

Display What it does Included?
Live Gallery Guests and remote viewers browse, share, and save the event's content on phones, touchscreens, or an embedded event site Included
Slideshow Content cycles across every screen as it comes in, so the room sees the activation happening Included
Leaderboard Guests vote for their favorites, passers-by can vote by scanning a code, and a live ranking gets the room competing Included, switched on by our team
Live Mosaic Every photo becomes a tile in one large branded image that builds through the event; guests can also add photos from a QR code Paid add-on

Sponsors can carry their own QR codes in the gallery and slideshow. Snapbar's team also produces static and video photo mosaics from photos a client supplies or content from the activation.

How an activation works

  1. Build. You pick an experience in Snapbar's platform, brand its microsite and delivery email, set the questions guests answer, and invite your team. You define and refine your AI styles before the event, with our team's help on the complex parts.
  2. Launch. Guests join by QR code, link, or a device at the venue. They create their content, enter their details in the data capture step, and get their content back in minutes.
  3. Measure. Leads, content, and engagement show up in real-time, shareable analytics. Admins moderate content live and export it anytime.

Across Snapbar's booking data, the median activation is booked 28 days before the event, and plenty come together in under two weeks. The usual bottleneck is brand assets and approvals rather than setup.

Running it at the event

  • Any number of devices at once. Run Snapbar on a kiosk, an iPad on a stand, a laptop at a desk, guests' phones by QR code, or all of them together. The price doesn't change with the number of devices or screens.
  • Built for crowds. Because every guest can take part from their own phone, a whole crowd can join at once without a line.
  • Moderation. Admins review content live. Turn on hold for approval and new photos wait for an admin before they reach any display.
  • Who can take part. Our team can limit entries per guest (matched by email or phone) or accept only guests who enter an email on your company's domains.
  • Live help. During an event, clients reach Snapbar's team at ops@thesnapbar.com.

Leads, data capture, and integrations

  • Guests trade their details for content they want, so Snapbar leads are opted in rather than scanned.
  • You choose the fields for each experience: name and email, company, job title, phone, LinkedIn, and qualifying questions as dropdowns, checkboxes, or buttons.
  • Consent is gated by default. If a guest doesn't consent, their details are dropped while their content still processes.
  • Export anytime: the lead file carries each guest's details, answers, and a link to their content, and bulk content exports use structured file names ready for CRM import.
  • Leads reach Slack or your own systems in real time through webhooks or our API. Zapier and direct integrations for HubSpot and many more are coming soon. Tell us what you use and we'll confirm the best available method. Our team switches integrations on for each account.
  • Analytics show submissions and views by hour, day, or week, so you can see which hours drew the most participation, and you can share them by link.
  • Embed any experience or live display in your event platform or website.

Delivery and sharing

  • Snapbar delivers content by email or by text. A text gives the guest a personalized link to their content. Spin to Win and Video Testimonials deliver by email only.
  • Every guest gets a sharing page to download their content and post it to social, and the event's content collects in the Live Gallery.
  • Every delivery email carries a link guests can use to ask for their photo or video to be removed from the galleries and screens.
  • Content can print as a 4x6, and trading cards as front-and-back card sheets, on a printer the client supplies.

Branding and customization

  • Every Snapbar experience is branded from start to finish: the guest microsite, overlays and frames, the delivery email, the sharing page, and every display.
  • A small "Powered by Snapbar" mark appears on guest-facing pages by default. The whitelabeling add-on removes it.
  • Guest-facing text can be translated, so an experience can run in other languages.

How pricing works

  • Snapbar is priced per experience. Every experience includes 1,000 platform credits, 30 days of live runtime, and unlimited platform admins.
  • Every experience also includes branding, real-time analytics, live moderation, lead capture, branded email delivery, guest sharing pages, and the included displays.
  • Credits are used as guests take part, at a rate set by the experience. Larger events add credits.
  • Add-ons include Live Mosaic, text delivery, translations, whitelabeling, and a 1-year runtime.
  • Our team shares current prices with every quote, including custom concepts and enterprise builds.

Data, privacy, and security

  • When Snapbar runs an activation for a client, Snapbar acts as a service provider (or processor) for the client, who controls the guest data.
  • Snapbar doesn't use client content, deliverables, or guest data to train AI models, and contractually requires its AI subprocessors to do the same.
  • Snapbar doesn't sell personal information.
  • Data is protected with encryption in transit and at rest.
  • Snapbar is based in the United States, and its subprocessors may process data in the United States and other countries.
  • Details are in our privacy policy and our list of subprocessors.

Who uses Snapbar

Event marketers, trade show exhibitors, conference organizers, agencies, and corporate teams use Snapbar, at brands including Microsoft, Google, Toyota, ServiceNow, Dell, Visa, and Paramount. See real activations in client projects, and browse activation concepts for ideas by event type and goal.

Snapbar started in 2012 as a wedding photo booth, launched one of the very first virtual photo booths in 2020 and its first AI photo booth in 2023, and became the experiential marketing platform brands use today. The full story is on our about page.

What clients bring, and what works alongside Snapbar

  • Devices and staff. Clients source the devices and any on-site staff. Most use an iPad or kiosk at the booth, guests' own phones, or both.
  • Printing. Printing runs on a printer the client supplies.
  • Social walls. Clients run their wall in Walls.io, and Snapbar sends moderated activation content into it.
  • Company headshots. Headshot programs for whole teams run through Scale Headshots, Snapbar's sister brand. Snapbar's Event Headshots are taken at events.

Common questions about Snapbar

How does Snapbar pricing work?

You pay per experience. Each one includes 1,000 platform credits, 30 days of live runtime, unlimited admins, lead capture, branded delivery, and the included displays. Guests use credits as they take part, and you can add more. Our team shares current prices with your quote.

Does Snapbar provide the iPad, kiosk, or staff for an activation?

No. Snapbar doesn't supply hardware or staffing, so you source devices and on-site staff yourself. Most teams need very little: an iPad on a stand at the booth, a laptop with a camera, or nothing at all when guests take part on their own phones through a QR code.

What is a credit, and how many do we need?

Credits are used as guests take part. AI experiences use more per guest than a photo experience or a game, so the same credits go further on a Digital Photo Booth than an AI Photo Booth. Plan for the people you expect to take part, not total attendance, and our team will size the credits with your quote.

Can one purchase cover several events?

Each experience has its own branding, leads, and gallery, and stays live for 30 days, or a full year with the runtime add-on. For a series, most teams set up one experience per event so the leads stay separate, and buying more than one experience lowers the price of each.

What happens when an experience's 30 days end?

The live runtime ends, but your account stays active and nothing is deleted. Every photo, lead, and report from the experience stays in your dashboard, and you can export it anytime. Need it live longer, like for a tour or an always-on activation? Add the 1-year runtime.

How far ahead should we book?

About a month is typical. Across our booking data the median lead time is 28 days, and plenty of activations come together in under two weeks. Platform setup is quick and our team deploys custom AI styles in days, so the usual bottleneck is brand assets and approvals.

8 more questionsShow fewer questions

Can agencies run Snapbar for their clients?

Yes. Agencies build and run activations for their clients in the platform, with each client's branding on every screen, email, and gallery. Whitelabeling is an add-on for agencies that want Snapbar's name off the experience entirely. Tell us about your program and we'll set up the account to fit.

Does Snapbar work for events outside the US?

Yes. Snapbar runs in the browser, so guests can take part on any device with an internet connection, wherever the event is. Translations are an add-on for guest-facing text in other languages. Tell us where and when your event is, and we'll confirm delivery options for that country.

Do guests need to download an app to use Snapbar?

No. Snapbar runs in the web browser, so guests join by scanning a QR code, opening a link, or walking up to a device at your booth. The same experience runs on a kiosk, an iPad, a laptop, or every guest's own phone, all at once if you want.

Can we approve photos before they show on screens?

Yes. Admins moderate Snapbar content live, and with hold for approval switched on, every new photo waits for an admin before it reaches the gallery, slideshow, or any other display.

Can a guest ask for their photo to be taken down?

Yes. Every Snapbar delivery email carries a link a guest can use to ask for their photo or video to be removed. It's hidden from the galleries, slideshows, leaderboards, Live Mosaic, and sharing page, and your team can review it in the dashboard. A screen that's already showing it drops it the next time it refreshes.

Can we limit who takes part, or how many times?

Yes. Snapbar's team can cap entries per guest, matched by email or phone, or accept only guests who enter an email on your company's domains, which suits employee events. Tell us which you need when you set up the experience.

How many people on our team can use the platform?

As many as you need. Every Snapbar experience includes unlimited platform admins, so your event team, agency partners, and stakeholders can build, moderate, and pull leads from the same account.

Can Snapbar content be printed at the event?

Yes, on a printer you supply. Snapbar content prints as a 4x6, and trading cards print as front-and-back card sheets. Guests also get their content by email or text, ready to share right away.
