Michael Bouterse stands as arguably one of the most interesting people on our team. If you see him at an event, just ask him to tell you about his adventures -- he'll have a new story every time! We've been able to spend so much time with him that we know a few ourselves. Here are a few facts about Michael that make him so interesting.

Michael is the son of two doctors! He was raised in western Washington for the majority of his life, and he attended Whitworth University for his undergraduate studies where he double majored in theology and history. Then he moved on to Oxford where he got his masters degree in Applied Theology! He also lived in China for about six months for his education. But now he is back in the Northwest, busy with many ministry engagements, and smashing events weekend after weekend for The SnapBar!

When he's not sharing his vast resources of knowledge and working for The SnapBar, Michael loves to backpack! In fact, he's actually in Zion National Park in Utah for a backpacking trip right now! He also enjoys learning new languages when he has the time. Currently, aside from English, Michael can speak German, Spanish, Chinese and can read biblical Greek and Hebrew. He's also a fantastic musician! He plays piano, and he played the cello in high school! Fun Fact: Michael was first chair cellist for the Peninsula Youth Orchestra in High School. (But don't tell him I told you).

For an extra fun fact about Michael, he loves riddles! When I asked him what his favorite riddle was, this is what he said: "Ok, super dumb, but here goes: You're trapped inside a concrete dome with nothing but a mirror and a piece of wood. How do you escape? Answer: You look in the mirror, you see what you saw, you use the saw to cut the piece of wood in half, two halves make a whole, so you climb through the hole and escape! (Kind more of a 'jiddle'--you know, a 'joke'/'riddle' 😉).
