In 2020, Snapbar created an online photo booth experience designed for the virtual world, but as in-person events are starting to return we’ve realized just how much potential our online photo booth has. Snapbar’s photo booth platform can be used anywhere by anyone with a device that has internet access and a camera; and these days almost everyone has a cell phone in their pocket.
This means we’ve created a customizable pocket photo booth and the in-person possibilities are nearly endless. Conferences, restaurant grand openings, corporate parties, and retail events can all have mobile, branded photo booths. Snapbar also offers QR code signage for in-person events to encourage photo booth use and incentivize more social sharing.
Let's take a look at some real examples of a virtual photo booth being used at in-person events:
Big Friday Week
With over 1,300 stores nationally, Old Navy has a massive customer base. For Black Friday, like many retailers, Old Navy hosts a week of events and sales. In order to keep their customers excited and entertained during chaotic Black Friday shopping, Old Navy hosts games for their guests waiting in line. When they booked a Virtual Photo Booth with us, we had the opportunity to create a customized experience that would keep their customers engaged for an extended period while they wait. We generated a QR code for them, so users could scan the code and pull up the photo booth on their phone. Then we added this custom message at the beginning of the booth:
“Happy Holidays from Old Navy! Thanks for coming to visit us today! As WE Holiday together, how are you celebrating the season? While you wait in line, decorate your picture and let us know about your holiday plans!”
Old Navy also added our Lead Capture feature which prompted users to answer the questions: “What is your favorite holiday tradition?” and “What is your favorite holiday food?”. This extra step was a great addition to the booth because it increased the length of time the user was in the booth and promoted fun discussions between people waiting in line.
The Big Friday Week photo booth was holiday themed so Old Navy used some of our pre-designed holiday assets that we incorporated their logo into. They also added a few of their own custom stickers. Finally, we customized the share screen of their booth by adding a ‘Get Coupon’ button so the users had access to a special deal once they had finished taking their photos. After the week-long campaign, there were over 1,200 photos in their gallery. Overall, we were able to put together an experience for Old Navy that was unique and fun for their guests; the photo booth was a great addition to Black Friday in their stores as it gave a personal touch that overall improved the in-store customer experience.

Alabama Works 2021 Southern Automotive Conference
The Alabama Works 2021 Southern Automotive Conference is a vehicle manufacturing workforce event for primarily Alabama but also neighboring states. AIDT, a top sponsor of SAC 2021, booked a Virtual Photo Booth for the event with branded frames and backgrounds. For the conference, we created custom QR Code signage to help advertise the photo booth in the event space. SAC 2021 also implemented a custom physical backdrop and virtual backgrounds which gave attendees a variety of options when taking their photos.

Holiday Showcase 2021
The Long Beach Convention and Visitors Bureau booked a photo booth with us for their booth at the 2021 Association Forum Holiday Showcase. For the event, the client used our Virtual Photo Booth on an iPad to take take ‘Elfies’ at their booth. The client had a backdrop set up with a custom frame prop and a person in an elf on the shelf costume to take photos with. This event utilized the camera flipping feature of our Virtual Photo Booth that allows users to take photos with either the front-facing or back camera; this means that within the photo booth app, pictures can be taken selfie-style or by a friend. This flexibility is extremely useful for in-person events because it gives attendees the opportunity to capture the event space and activities from any angle. In this case, they accessed the photo booth on an iPad and were able to move the camera around however was necessary to capture the guests and props in the picture. After the photos were taken, users could then access the gallery of the photo booth on their phones by scanning a displayed QR code. From the gallery, they could view other attendees’ photos and download their own. Snapshot was a fun and engaging addition to the Long Beach CBV booth at the showcase.
