Great design boosts your virtual photo booth engagement, but not everybody has an in-house design team. No need to fret, we've put together a list of free photo booth resources that anybody can use to create a variety of impressive designs.
In this blog, we'll cover some of our top free resources for designing backgrounds, frames, and stickers for Snapshot. Pro tip: for some amazing examples, visit our photo booth inspiration page.
So whether you're hosting an event or supplying headshots for your team - you can find stunning designs for any kind of activation.
Interface Backgrounds
The interface background of Snapshot is your users' first impression- so it's best to make it look exciting. A good rule of thumb when designing interface backgrounds is to keep them simple and bold.
- Gradients are always a hit. You can easily customize a gradient to your brand/event's colors, adjust the opacity, type, and rotation to create a one-of-a-kind background. One of our favorite gradient tools is Coolors, which is a straightforward tool, plus, you can download your gradient image with just a click. Freepik which we discuss again later in this article is also a great tool for finding more artsy gradient backgrounds that are already made, so all you have to do is download them.
- Patterns are also a common background go-to. Abstract patterns are especially popular which is why we love: Haikei. You'll find some of the most popular patterns like blobs, peaks, circles, and waves that you can easily customize.
Virtual Backgrounds
Similarly to interface backgrounds, gradients and patterns are always a hit, but you can also create a striking Booth with free stock imagery from any one of these sites:
Terms like: background, abstract, texture, and wallpaper are some of our favorites to search. If you're hosting a specific type of event, like a happy hour, try using broad terms that you would associate with that event, like neon, celebration, cocktail, colorful, and nightlife.
Frames & Stickers
When designing frames and stickers for your online photo booth, you can use several file types but we recommend sticking to vector (.eps, .svg, .ai). Our favorite free vector resource is Freepik, where you can find almost any kind of graphic. By switching the resource toggle search bar to "vectors", and checking the "free" option under "licenses", you can type in a keyword related to your Booth's theme to find vector assets to match.
For stickers specifically, icons work amazingly well - you can search just about any term and find many different icons and customize them by style, line weight, color, etc. The best part is you can download these icons in a transparent PNG format (our preferred format for stickers) with just a click of a button! Check out both Flaticon and Icons8 for sticker designs.
Finally...
Given all these points above, designing your assets doesn't have to be hard - but we realize it's not for everybody which is why our internal design team is always happy to help.
