Events are meant to be engaging and interesting. They should intrigue your audience and keep them entertained. More than anything, providing your attendees with photo-worthy moments and features is an excellent way of increasing engagement and awareness. Some of the best events we’ve been to have some unique feature that gets the crowd interested and excited.
Here, we’ve listed some of the most engaging and interesting features that you can implement at your next event.
1. Projection Art
To have photo-worthy moments, you want to make sure that you have something visually appealing for people to look at. Projection art is a visual tapestry that’s projected onto a flat surface in your event.
The art can consist of anything, but one of the coolest examples we’ve seen is “Dream Tweet”. This example of projection art is an interactive installation that created a collective dreamscape of the crowd’s dreams and nightmares from the night before, using tweets that were marked with a specific hashtag
An awesome idea would be to use this projection art to collect all of the tweets that were made during your event using a branded hashtag, that would display in your event. It would add an interactive element to your event where people can write their thoughts and feelings to share with the rest of the audience.
2. Food Art Installation
I’m sure we’ve all seen at least one or two episodes of shows like Cake Boss. Huge cakes that are made to look like something else, like a car, or a baseball player. There are also other examples of art pieces being made from food.
If it’s relevant for your event, a food art installation could be a great feature to have as the centerpiece for your event. It can act as an awesome conversation starter and it can get people involved with the event by getting them to share pictures of it.
3. Digital Graffiti
Installing a digital graffiti wall or an interactive canvas can be a great way to get people excited about your event. Instead of a signed guest book, why not install a digital graffiti wall at the entrance of your event for guests to sign and take pictures with?
A digital graffiti wall (Such as this one that’s offered by Tangible) is built to look and feel like real graffiti street art. By giving your guests access to the digital spray cans, you can provide a unique experience at your event that is high impact and highly engaging. Through an idea like this, you can implement some social media campaigns as well to draw more social awareness to your brand or event.
4. Charity Auction
If you’re hosting a fundraising event and need an interesting idea to run with, make sure you’ve considered holding a charity auction. A charity auction consists of items collected through donations or consignment that the nonprofit tries to sell during the event through an auction bidding system, whether that’s silent, live, or online.
It’s important to note that this feature only works if there’s something worthwhile for sale. The auction items have to be high quality, valuable, and highly sought after. The best way to source items for your charity auction is to reach out to sponsors (both potential and current) and let them know about your plans.
Make sure you capitalize on your non-profit's mission and values, what that means for the sponsor, and how this can act as great content for your sponsors to use in their own branding pushes. Travel packages and signed memorabilia from famous celebrities would be great things to sell at your charity auction that would yield high rewards. 5. Custom Photo Booths
Photo booths are becoming increasingly popular at events, whether they’re conferences, festivals, or even weddings! Instead of relying on your guests to take pictures at your event, why not provide them with a platform to take as many photos as they want?
Pick a custom photo booth that fits the aesthetics of your event and open it up to your attendees early on. One of the best ways to build content for your event is to keep copies of all the photos that are taken in your photo booth. This way, you can use them after the events ended as a form of testimonial of how great your event is.
The SnapBar offers a variety of different photo booths for events, regardless of what type you’re hosting. From photo booth rentals, GIF booths, green screens, hashtag printing, and Selfie Stands, having a custom photo booth at your next event is a smart idea that you won’t regret.
Next time you host an event, make sure you plan out something extraordinary for your guests. Create opportunities for your attendees to have photo-worthy experiences and you’ll find that they are more than happy to spread the love about your event!
