We always want to supply you with the best tips for your planning needs. Our sweet friends at Bridal Bliss were kind enough to share some of their knowledge with us so we could pass it along to you! Here are Bridal Bliss's tips on what to avoid doing when planning your wedding!
As 2018 is well underway and wedding season just right around the corner, we thought it would be a great time to share some Common Wedding Planning Mistakes with newly engaged couples who are planning their 2019 weddings. Here at Bridal Bliss we work with couples in all different stages of planning and over the years have seen some common mistakes that can be easily avoided. Take a peek below to make sure you are prepped for wedding planning.
Don't Book Your Venue First
Before booking a venue or making any decisions, start by building a guest list. It does not need to be a complete version, but getting a rough draft of the guest list will allow you and your families to see how many people you are going to be inviting. This will allow you to begin searching for venues that will accommodate your guest list and you won't have to worry down the road about the venue capacity. If you happen to fall in love with a venue that does not hold your estimate guest list, you will have this information and be able to scale back your guest list prior to sending out Save the Dates or Invitation.

Set a Budget and Follow it
A good budget will provide a great backbone for wedding planning. By creating a budget you will be able to make sure all involved parties are comfortable with the total number. Your budget will help guide you in researching vendors and deciding who to hire on your wedding day. Throughout the planning process it is important to follow and track your budget. If you go over in certain areas, you will know and can make adjustments. By staying on top of your wedding budget it will allow you to know exactly how much you are spending and not have any last minute surprises.
Don't Second Guess the Dress
When shopping for your wedding dress you might be tempted to order a smaller size with the plan to be as healthy as possible for your big day. We recommend ordering the size that fits right then and there. It is always easier to alter a dress smaller, than letting it out. Once you have ordered your dress, be excited. Don't spend too much time reviewing pictures or continuing to shop around (even online). Wait till your dress arrives, when the dress fits you and you know that it's your dress - you will love it.

Prep for Beauty Trials
If you plan to get facials, waxing, spray tans or any other beauty treatments make sure you start your trial runs a few months before the wedding. About three months before the wedding go in for any beauty appointments you wish to have done before the wedding day. It is important to make sure there are no skin reactions to these appointments as often times these are not everyday appointments for couples getting married. Spray tans are great, but is often where we see mistakes made. Make sure you see someone you trust, and get your spray tan in advance so you have time to shower twice. We find that this helps reduce the staining on white dresses.
Don't Forget the Video
The one regret we hear from couples the most is not hiring a videographer. Videography is such a wonderful piece to have after the wedding as it allows you to hear the sounds and voices from the day. It is a snapshot of the wedding that you can continue to share with family members, future kids, relatives, etc. for years to come. Try to fit it into the budget (see tip #2) from the beginning so you don't regret not hiring someone to capture the day.
Day-of, Relax
Lastly, when it comes time for your wedding day, relax. You have hired an amazing group of professionals who are going to work their hardest to make sure your day is memorable. There might be a hiccup along the way, but don't get hung up on it. Occasionally we see couples worrying the whole day about the little details (that's our job!) and forget to enjoy the day. Make sure to relax, take it all in and have fun - it goes by quick so the more fun you have, the more memorable it will be.
