I've said it before, I'll say it again -- photo booths have been around forever. Okay, not forever, but a really long time. The very first photo booth was created in 1889 in Paris, and they are still an excitement piece to this very day! That's insane! Very few things maintain their popularity enough to stick around for over a century. Much of the success of the photo booth can be accredited to the fact that each experience in a photo booth is different: memories are made and simultaneously captured in an image. Mostly, the excitement of the experience is created by the people in the booth. But there is degree that is attributed to the booth itself.
Photo booths are often times pretty simple things, in the sense that they exist to take a photo. But the beauty of a photo booth is that it involves technology -- technology that changes with the trends. Photo booths keep up with what people want. From style to quality, the photo booth keeps up with the popular demands of society. Now, the options for your photo booth activation are limitless! Especially, if you find a photo experience company that loves custom projects. 😉
We're pretty proud of what we do. Photo booth activations have become our art. We get to work with a number of clients to create some of the most unique and fitting activations for their event. When we work with any client, there are a number of things we do to help them design the perfect activations for their event. Here, I have broken it down into four easy steps of customization!
1. Booth Style
Photo booth companies worldwide are coming up with their own unique take on photo booths. From the slimmest techy look to the most elaborate design, it's a big decision just choosing a booth itself! Your primary question is, "Which booth will fit my event best?" We broke down the differences between our three booths in another blog for your planning convenience--check it out here!

2. Custom Backdrop
Everyone has Sequin and Bokeh backdrops at their events. But you want to be original! Like I said before, it's all about the experience. So give your guests something they've never seen before. Why not design your own backdrop? We have gotten to help tons of clients design their custom backdrop. We regularly design Step & Repeat backdrops for corporate clients. Occasionally, we get the creative bride who wants to design the perfect backdrop for her wedding. Here are some of our favorites.

3. Custom Effect
Custom effects add the perfect touch of pizazz to an event. They turn normal photos into something just a bit out of the ordinary -- something worth talking about and sharing. All it takes is adding a digital overlay or filter to spice up your images. For example, when we worked with T-Mobile for Seattle Pride, we created a falling digital overlay to run over the GIFs. Guests were ecstatic about their experience and loved the specialized effect that celebrated the theme of the month. Note: They also had a custom backdrop and used a Brand Booth.

We had a couple, Raffi and Nikki, who wanted to class things up a bit for their black tie nuptuals. We added a Glam Effect to the couple's Luxe Booth, much like the one used in the famous Kardashian photo booth pictures. There's just something about a Glam Effect that screams "Classy."

Or take the flipped effect we used at Vestal Village. We needed an effect that would embody the hip, carefree, summer vibe of Coachella. Each of these effects went against the typical photo booth experience!

4. Custom Props
There is one more thing we suggest to clients when choosing a custom photo booth rental -- custom props. Props are like the cherry on top in the photo booth world. They wrap everything together nicely and make the experience extra fun! For example, Smartsheet wanted a 1910's themed photo booth. They spent a little extra money to have us order custom, quality props to fit the theme. The photos turned out amazing and guests looked like they were really in the early 20th century! (Client used a custom backdrop and custom effect for this event as well).

Neiman Marcus liked the idea of our sign props, but they wanted some that represented their brand and event specifically. We were happy to provide them with quality props that showed off their branding and hashtags. For marketing purposes, this was genius because it got their content out there to whoever saw the photo. (For more on how to use a photo booth for marketing and brand exposure, click here).

We love what we do and can work with you to create the perfect custom photo booth rental to match your event theme or company branding. Once it all comes together, the result is amazing and your guests will be left with quite the impression. How many people get to use a 1910's themed photo booth or share a GIF with a falling rainbow overlay? It's your turn to become one of the few.
